1998 International Workshop on
Description Logics | ![]() | ![]() |
The 1998 International Workshop on Description Logics (DL'98) continues the tradition of international workshops devoted to discussing developments and applications of knowledge representation formalisms based on Description Logics. Demonstrations of systems and DL-based applications will be possible and people interested are encouraged to get in touch with the organizers.
|
DL'98 will immediately follow KR'98 (Sixth International Conference on Principles of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning) which will be held in Trento, Italy, June 2-5, 1998. | |
PROGRAM
The workshop
program is available.
A preliminary list of
participants is available.
|
The Opening Reception will be held at the Wine Culture House ``Casa della Cultura del Vino, Palazzo Trautmannsdorf'' (in the corner between Piazza della Mostra and via del Suffragio, in the historical center of Trento) on Friday evening, June 5, from 7.00-9.00 PM. We suggest to study in advance the peculiarities of the wines from Trentino, in order to better enjoy our social events. A workshop desk will be available for on-site registrations at the Opening Reception.
The technical sessions of the workshop will start at 2.00 PM on Saturday June 6, and will finish at 6.00 PM on Monday June 8. The lunch on Saturday at the IRST canteen is included, and it will start at 12.45 sharp. The workshop bus will arrive on time for lunch; check the bus schedule at the conference hotels.
The workshop material is printed as ITC-irst Proceedings Ref. No. 9805-03 to be distributed at the workshop and made available to other researchers on demand. The proceedings are also electronically distributed as a CEUR Publication on http://SunSITE.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE/Publications/CEUR-WS/Vol-11/.
DL'98 will be held at IRST, Povo, a small outlying ward of Trento. Information about traveling to Trento and reaching IRST, together with tourist information and suggested restaurants, can be found at our page on Povo. Bus transportation from the conference hotels to the workshop location is included in the registration; check the bus schedule at the conference hotels.
REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION
Participation to the workshop is by invitation only. If you wish to participate and you have not already submitted a paper or a statement of interest, please contact the organizers at dl98@dl.kr.org.
Registration to the workshop is free, and it includes admittance
to the workshop sessions, coffee breaks, three lunches at the canteen,
the opening reception on Friday evening June 5, the visit to wine
cellars on Tuesday afternoon June 9, and a copy of the workshop
proceedings. The social dinner (with the visit to a wine cellar) on
Sunday evening June 7 costs 65,000 Italian lire.
In order to
register, DL'98 workshop participants should use the common KR'98
Registration form. Please read carefully the information brochure
before compiling the form. KR'98 conference registration for DL'98
workshops participants is welcome but it is not mandatory.
We have reserved a block of rooms in Trento and surroundings at reduced conference rates. To qualify for these rates, reservations must be made using the common KR'98 Hotel-Banquet-Excursion form. Use the Hotel-Banquet-Excursion form also to register to the DL'98 social dinner. Please read carefully the information brochure before compiling the form.
DL SYSTEMS COMPARISON
DL'98 will host a DL systems comparison session. Systems will be
compared on the basis of benchmarks which will be prepared in order to
emphasize the best out of each system. This first round of the
comparison at DL'98 will serve mostly as an evaluation of the
benchmark testing set, and it is not intended to be the last word on a
possible ranking.
